While the directors of the Suburban-ettes are committed to teach girls the art of baton twirling, they also teach the girls how to become well-rounded individuals by providing them with opportunities to give back to the community that has done so much for them.
The girls have and continue to participate in the following:
- Shopping for Toys for Christmas for those children who are less fortunate
- Cards for our soldiers
- Food Drives
- Nursing Home performances
- Charity competitions and performances
- Autism Awareness
- Down Syndrome Awareness
On May 12, 2014, one of our twirling sisters, Meghan Sullivan, passed away from Huntington’s Disease. In her honor, the Suburban-ettes performed at HDSA Walk in Lowell. We continue to honor her love of twirling, positivity, dedication, and sportsmanship by nominating a current twirler each year of the Meghan Sullivan Award.
