About Us

History of the Suburban-ettes

The studio was formed in 1969 and the Suburban-ettes in 1976, becoming a marching unit and competition team. As we grew and continued winning state and regional championships, 1985 brought us to nationals and world competition at Notre Dame University in Indiana. Based on our excellent placement, we were invited to travel to the former U.S.S.R. under a program established by former President Reagan. This invitation was a once in a lifetime opportunity. With hard work, fundraisers, and extremely dedicated students, in 1987 we traveled to Moscow and Leningrad; they will be in our memories forever. The team of 1987 started dreams and set goals for challenging our future baton twirlers.

The Suburban-ettes Twirl Team

The studio was started in 1969 by Maureen Dunn focusing on training development of fine young twirlers. Equally important is teaching our students self-esteem and self-while learning dancing and twirlung techniques in a friendly disciplined and helpful environment. The studio is now under the direction by Maureen’s former student, Kristina Reppucci and also coached by Amy Melanson who was also a former Suburban-ette.
